R8 - what is the sequence of courses I should take?
Training Paths
Our courses are designed to be taken in a sequence. This sequence ensures that the prerequisite knowledge and experience is gained prior to taking the following course. We do NOT recommend that you take all courses immediately after one another; you should gain relevant experience using the techniques of any course prior to taking the next course.
Here is the recommended sequence of courses for users, administrators, and developers:
New User Training
Developer Training
Administrator Training
Help Desk Training
Help Desk employees generally fall into two major areas of responsibility:
Application support.
Help users use Notes and escalate technical issues to Notes Administrators. For this role you need an in-depth understanding of how Notes is used on a day-to-day basis. For these individuals, the
Lotus Notes 8 User Essentials
and
Lotus Notes 8 User Essentials PLUS Pack
courses are recommended. In addition this class may include some or all topics from the
Lotus Notes 8 Support
the
Lotus Notes 8 Administration
courses depending on your job responsibilities.
Full Notes client administration
(register IDs, install and configure software, troubleshoot software problems). For this role you need to know some or all topics from
the
Lotus Notes 8 Support
the
Lotus Notes 8 Administration
courses depending on your job responsibilities.
You should also be well-versed in the content of the
Lotus Notes 8 User Essentials
course.
We feel that most Help Desk employees should take all three
courses...even if they are not actively involved with user issues or administration issues. Both parties will gain from understanding both sets of issues!
